Programs to help buy adaptive equipment

We are pleased to share the news that Easter Seals has two programs to help people who have disabilities access adaptive technology.

One program provides grants to pay for assistive technology equipment that costs up to $500. The recipient has to have an annual income of $22,980 or less. The money can be used to buy magnifiers, adaptive telephones and many other types of assistive devices.

Easter Seals also has a low interest loan program to help someone who has a disability buy equipment that costs from $500 to $25,000. This program offers an interest rate of 3.75% for a term of five to eight years. Borrowers have to take out a loan from a partner bank of Easter Seals and must be able to demonstrate the capacity to repay the loan. These loans can be used to pay for computer systems, speech software, scan to speech hardware among many other things.
