Large print puzzles

Lots of people enjoy doing puzzles; word find, crossword or Sudoku. The problem is that many people who have lost vision give up doing their favorite puzzles because they just get to be too difficult. Very few people know that there are many large print puzzle books available and that they are relatively inexpensive, around $13. 

Besides getting the books, there are other strategies to make doing puzzles easier. Good, direct light helps make the puzzles much easier to see. A simple desk lamp very often is sufficient. Another tool is to use a piece of yellow transparent plastic over the puzzle that makes the black print underneath really stand out ($2).

Doing puzzles is a great way to pass the time. There is no reason to stop doing puzzles just because someone has lost some vision. Large print puzzle books and using adaptive techniques makes doing puzzles possible again.
