Doing jigsaw puzzles

Doing puzzles is one of the activities that many people do for recreation. We suggested some strategies for our patient to make it easier for him to resume doing jigsaw puzzles. First, as usual we suggested that the patient move a desk lamps over to the table where s/he would be doing the puzzle. Good lighting makes almost anything easier to do. Then, we suggest that the patient lay down a bright yellow piece of cloth that s/he would use under the puzzle to offer more contrast from the dark wooden table where patients often do puzzles. Finally, we helped patients order a good lighted magnifier to use to identify puzzle pieces.

Patients may no longer to 1,000 piece puzzles and maybe not do puzzles as quickly as they used to. However, they can regain the satisfaction of doing puzzles again.
