Reading handwritten notes

We have some simple tips to help make reading handwritten notes easier.† Despite learning beautiful cursive writing, we urge our patients to use block printing when writing.† We teach our patients to use a black, medium point marker.† The markerís stroke is bolder and much easier to see that the thin lines left when using ball point pens.† Increasing contrast is also very helpful.† We find using a black marker on yellow paper is much easier to read then writing on white paper.† Finally, using a simple desk lamp that is able to shine directly on the paper while writing really makes a big difference.

These simple strategies, used together, makes taking and reading messages easier.† With a little practice, a patient can feel more confident and not miss any more appointments.
